Battlefield V’s beta ended not too long ago, and it did exactly what a beta should do- it gave DICE tons of data and feedback on what stuff in their game is working, and what stuff needs to be improved upon. To that effect, recently they released a brief update on some of the areas that they’ll be looking to improve more than most.

One of the areas that DICE pointed out was the TTK (Time To Kill) and TTD (Time To Death), noting that they’ll be tweaking things to balance out this particular aspect on the basis of what they saw in the beta. We now have more information on that. In the studio’s latest episode of Battlefield V Dev Talks, David Sirland, multiplayer producer, explained that due to netcode issues and packet loss, things such as TTK and TTD were affected in the beta.

Apparently, players incurred more damage per shot than they should have been doing, which resulted in much faster deaths, which is not something DICE intended. Things such as the weapons upgrade system, and the high fire rates of certain weapons were also factors. That said, Sirland also assured fans that these are all areas that DICE will be tweaking to bring about a better balance.

You can watch the entire episode below. Battlefield 5 launches on November 20, following its recent delay, for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. DICE has also promised a larger number of bigger maps in the final game than what players saw in the beta.
