Borderlands 3 Expected To Release In 2019 – Rumor

Gearbox's long awaited sequel might be closer than we think.

Posted By | On 07th, Oct. 2018

It’s been over six years now since we saw the release of Borderlands 2, and in the last couple of years, speculation and questions surrounding a full-fledged sequel have been ramping up. And even though we know for a fact that Gearbox is currently working on Borderlands 3, there’s not even been a peep about anything to do with an official confirmation.

However, according to new info, the game’s release might be closer than we think. YouTube channel The Triple S League is reporting that it’s heard from two independent sources (“who happen to say the same thing, who do now know each other at all”) that localization work on Borderlands 3 for several different languages is underway (and has been underway for a few months now).

This is interesting because, as the video (which you can see below as well) points out as well, localization is usually among the last steps taken in the process of developing a game, which suggest that Borderlands 3 is quite close to being finished.

Of course, this is by no means a confirmation of any sort, and the validity or reliability of the source isn’t something anyone can vouch for at this stage, so take this with a pinch of salt. It’s interesting nonetheless, and a 2019 release for Borderlands 3, which would be six years after Borderlands 2’s launch, wouldn’t be completely out of the question.

Either way, stay tuned to GamingBolt, and we’ll keep you updated as more info comes our way.
