Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has now launched fully, whether it be for pre-orders or for its global launch, and given its huge scope and its nature as a large open world RPG, it’s bound to have a few issues that the developers may not have caught during development. While a day one patch and another subsequent update have fixed plenty of these, other issues still persist.

One such issue is exclusive to those who’re playing the game on PC. Essentially, if you have older processors, there’s no way you can run the game without AVX support, which is inconsistent with the system requirements that were released by Ubisoft prior to release, which mentioned no such requirement.

Ubisoft, however, has put up an update on Reddit, where they claim to be aware of the issue, and have promised that they are “actively working” on a fix for the same. Even though they’re as of yet unable to say just when exactly this fix might be coming, the update assures that it’s a “high priority” for Ubisoft.

“Thanks to your support, we were able to identify the common cause of a few instances of reported crashes: the impacted CPUs didn’t support AVX – more details below,” the update reads. “We heard your feedback and are now actively working on a solution to extend the supported CPUs for our players to be able to run Assassin’s Creed Odyssey without AVX support, within the minimum requirements. As this is an ongoing process, we are not able to provide an ETA just yet, but rest assured this is a high priority for us and we will keep you updated on the progress.”

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is out not for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Be sure to read our review through here.
