Pokemon GO Getting First Batch of Sinnoh Pokemon Starting This Week

Sinnoh fans, this is all you’re getting for now, so might as well just take it.

The Pokemon Company and Niantic have already confirmed that Pokemon from Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, the fourth generation games that were set in the snowy and mountanious region of Sinnoh, are due to begin appearing in Pokemon GO some time soon. Apparently soon is very soon, because they’re due to start showing up this week.

The first wave of Gen 4 Pokemon in the game include all three starters (Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup), as well as some of the more common species from those games, including everyone’s favorite Bidoof. Most notably, Pokemon such as Leafeon, Glaceon, and Lickylicky, which are evolutions of older Pokemon that were introduced in Gen 4, can not yet be obtained in the game.

That said, that isn’t much reason to worry—if the rollout of previous generation Pokemon is anything to go by, then we can probably expect more Sinnoh Pokemon to gradually begin showing up in the game over the next few weeks and months.

For now, check out the brand new trailer for the new Pokemon for yourself below. Pokemon GO is out now on iOS and Android. Presumably, this new update will help it maintain its newfound insane popularity.
