PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Will Get New Graphics and Performance Modes on Xbox One X Next Month

As well as a bevy of other improvements.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has actually been a remarkable success on Xbox One, not dissimilar to its genre pioneering success on PC. That said, the Xbox version is actually fairly poorly optimized, and has a bevy of issues in terms of visuals and performance, even almost a year since its release.

Thankfully, it sounds like Bluehole and PUBG Corp will be fixing some of those with the upcoming update for the game. The developers announced that the game will be getting a new update in November, that will add two graphical settings for it on Xbox One X—one favouring the performance, and toning down the graphics, with the other emphasizing graphical fidelity and visuals, instead taking a hit on the performance and framerate. Now you can decide on your own gaming experience (albeit for competitive play, the option prioritizing framerate is likely to be the one that is valued the most).

There will be other additions in the patch too, which you can see in the patch notes for yourself below. PUBG is out now on PC and Xbox One, while a PS4 version has been rated as well.

November Content:

  • Custom Match
  • Player Care Package system

◦ A new system to grant rewards for in-game events

  • Supply System

◦ A new system to grant rewards for completing missions and objectives

  • Skorpion
  • Graphical settings options

◦ Options for those who prefer better graphics and those who prefer better performance and don’t mind sacrificing some graphical quality

  • Region Renewal

◦ Server/region is decided automatically depending on the player’s local region. If you group with a player from another region, matchmaking will automatically decide the best region to play on.

  • Ranked System
  • FPP FOV improvements
