Battlefield 5 is currently playable for all those who have subscriptions for Origin Access Premier, and is set to go live on PS4, Xbox One, and PC for those who pre-ordered the game’s Deluxe Edition. Recently, DICE confirmed that they would be releasing a patch for the game ahead of the Deluxe Edition’s release to fix some issues in the game, and that patch, labeled update 1.03, has now been rolled out.
Jaqub Ajmal, producer at DICE, was active on Twitter giving out notes for all the changes that the patch will be bringing with it. For starters, RTX ray tracing can now be enabled if you’re playing Battlefield 5 on PC, given that your system supports that, of course.
The update also fixes an issue where rounds between matches would often start with a very uneven number of players on both sides, while issues regarding disconnections in matchmaking with full squads have also been addressed. There was also a rather bizarre bug that was causing the revive functionality to stop working for all players across a server, which has now also been fixed.
A number of other bugs and issues have also been addressed in the patch- you can check out Ajmal’s tweets with the patch notes below. As per DICE over at Reddit, the patch weighs 1.56 GB on PC, 530 MB on Xbox One, and 350 MB on PS4. Give that the PC version’s patch also brings additional enhancements, such as enabling ray tracing, that gap makes sense.
Battlefield 5 is out now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. For more information on the game, make sure you check out our review through here.
