Cyanide’s upcoming action RPG, Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood, was due to be published by Focus Home Interactive (the two also worked together on the recent Call of Cthulhu). However, BigBen Interactive have sent out a press release announcing that they have acquired the publishing rights of the game.

Alain Falc, CEO of BigBen Interactive said in a statement, “We are thrilled to have reached this agreement which considers, in an equitable way, the different parties’ investments. This will allow Cyanide to keep the ball rolling on the game’s development and to give its numerous fans a really unique experience, in a universe that gamers are very fond of.”

Shams Jorjani, vice president of of business development at Paradox Interactive and interim manager at White Wolf (who are owned by Paradox and also own the Werewolf IP), also gave a statement, saying that the upcoming action RPG’s “intense action and desperate supernatural danger” are “a perfect fit for BigBen”.

“The intense action and desperate supernatural danger of Werewolf is a perfect fit for BigBen,” said Jorjani. “And this is happening at the best time, because of our renewed focus on brand management and licensing. This allows us to give our partners exactly what they need to develop amazing customer experiences in their licensed products. Video games always have been a key pillar to White Wolf’s brand strategy: they’re an incredibly powerful medium for great World of Darkness stories! So, we are looking forward very much to this partnership, and to many others, in the months and years ahead.”

Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood is slated for a launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, but is currently without a release date. If you want more information on the game, make sure you read our interview with game director Julien Desourteaux from last year through here.
