Dragon’s Dogma: Console Versions Will Be Similar, Possible PC Version On the Cards

Posted By | On 02nd, Aug. 2011

For some reason or the other I am actually not following Dragon’s Dogma in the same zest I am following other Capcom games. So before writing this news up, I saw some gameplay videos and in all honesty my mind was blown and my jaws dropped. Capcom are easily creating a winner, meshing ideas from Demons Soul and Shadow of the Colossus and will be a game that every PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owner should look forward to in 2012.

Now since the game is coming on platforms that dont fancy each other, there are bound to be questions about the superior version. Secondly I am surprised that there is no PC version of Dragon’s Dogma, since I think with a fantasy setting the game could have appealed more to the PC market.

In an interesting interview with AusGamers, Director Hideaki Itsuno and Producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi have claimed that the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will be similar and they may think about a PC version later down the road.

The Xbox and PlayStation versions are pretty much the same thing aside from the controllers, the game content itself is all the same. As far as a PC version goes, we don’t have any plans right now as we’re just concentrating on getting this version — the home console version — complete.

The team that’s working on this is very familiar with home consoles so we want to concentrate on this first. Then after the game comes out and we see how well it does, then we can start thinking about maybe doing a PC version.

In all honesty, I dont care which version looks better. The developers should bring the game on the PC since games like this shine the most on gaming’s most beloved platform. It will be a shame if it does not hit gaming PCs.
