Super Smash Bros. Ultimate may be due to get its update 2.0.0 this week, but Nintendo has also released a general update for the Switch without any warning. Update 7.0.0 is available to download now, and… well, if you expected it to do much, a) you’re wrong, and b) haven’t you learned already?
Among other things, the new update adds a bunch of new profile icons based on the just released New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe. It also adds support for Korean and Chinese languages for the system UI and home menu, and finally, “general stability”. Why is this a 7.0.0 level update? Who knows! You’re never getting much, if any, sense with Nintendo’s version numbering, that’s for sure.
As always, your Switch will download the update automatically if you leave it on Rest Mode, and have automatic updates on. If not, you need to head over to Settings, and then System Update, to manually force one.
You can see full update notes below:
- Select from six new New Super Mario Bros.™ U Deluxe icons for your user
To edit your user icon, head to your My Page > Profile on the top left of the HOME menu
- Added additional language support to the HOME Menu for Chinese, Korean, and Taiwanese
To change the language, head to the System Settings > System > Language
- General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience
