Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt RED recently confirmed that they’d be bringing Cyberpunk 2077 back to E3 in June this year, and during their latest financial call, they spoke a little bit more about what that will entail. As per the developer, E3 2019 is going to be the most important show in their history, and Cyberpunk 2077 is going to have what they feel is a very strong performance- stronger even than its stellar E3 2018 showing (which was, admittedly, behind closed doors).

The developer confirmed that the upcoming RPG is in advanced stages of development, but did not go into specifics about what exactly that means in terms of how far away it is from release. That said, rumours have suggested that a release date for the game could be announced at E3 2019, so perhaps that might just end up actually happening. Something else of note that they mentioned is that Cyberpunk 2077 could end up being a cross-generation title, with the studio expressing interesting in also releasing the game on next gen systems, for which, they state, their engine is fully equipped as well.

CD Projekt RED also confirmed that they have a team currently working on their next game as well. The team working on the game is relatively smaller right now, but it’s a game that they expect will “go beyond gamers’ expectations” with its “stellar” concept. CDPR did recently say that they plan on releasing two AAA games by the end of 2021, so this doesn’t come as too much of a surprise- though it’ll be interesting to see just when the developer begins talking about what this project is.
