Respawn producer Blair Brown confirmed the same in a recent tweet.

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order

Electronic Arts’ focus on live-service has led to complaints for many of its recent titles, like Anthem (which had its own development troubles as well). There were concerns that Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order would go down the same path. However, producer Blair Brown confirmed on Twitter that there would be no microtransactions or multiplayer in the action-adventure title.

Brown said he was “So happy to be working on a single player story focused game again” in a recent tweet. While this does raise questions about post-launch support – will there be free updates, DLC, or expansions? – it should quell some fear of the story not being a focal point. Now the real question is how the gameplay looks.

Leaks over the past few days have discussed the Dark Souls-like combat of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, while also noting parry mechanics akin to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. One part of the leaks definitively confirmed is that the game is being developed on Unreal Engine 4 and not Frostbite. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is out in Holiday 2019 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC, but stay tuned for more details from the Star Wars Celebration in the meantime.
