Focus Home Interactive and developer Asobo Studio’s A Plague Tale: Innocence is an intriguing game that’s been on the radars of many for a while now. The adventure game features the story of two siblings, Amicia and her younger brother Hugo, trying to survive against the bleak backdrop of The Hundred Years’s War and the Black Death, two events that lead to a staggering amount of death in 14th century Europe.

To accompany the dark setting and story, Olivier Deriviere has composed the game’s score. Deriviere has worked on the score for multiple period piece games, such as Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Vampyr, and Alone in the Dark. Focus Home Interactive posted a sample of the soundtrack to their YouTube channel (you can check it out below) that has two of the tracks against a speed painting of Amicia and a mass of rats, the key carriers of the Black Death plague and attributed to its rapid spread across Europe, who will also have a major part to play in the upcoming game.

A Plague Tale: Innocence recently wrapped up development, and will release on May 14th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Read our recent interview with the developers to get more details on the game.
