Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Has “Optional” Online Play

According to the game's listing on the PlayStation Store, at least.

Respawn Entertainment and EA have been making a big deal about Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order not having any microtransactions or multiplayer. The point is to the emphasize the story-driven nature of the single-player experience. That being said, there appears to be some kind of optional online play that’s available.

This is according to the game’s listing on the PlayStation Store. There wasn’t much additional information provided, but this could possibly be akin to Dark Souls, where players can “invade” others’ worlds or fight against invaders. It certainly wouldn’t be the only FromSoftware-like mechanic included, especially with the dodging, striking and parrying being compared to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be releasing on November 15th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. It’s developed on Unreal Engine 4 instead of Frostbite and despite having a Deluxe Edition, the latter only contains a behind-the-scenes “Director’s Cut” video feature and in-game cosmetics. No additional DLC or a Season Pass seems to be planned currently.
