Cuphead

Cuphead recently released on the Nintendo Switch, and the acclaimed shoot em up has fit right onto the handheld with its art style calling back to old 1920s-30s American cartoons. Along with the Switch release came some new features not present in the other versions of the game, but now developer Studio MDHR has released update 1.2 free of charge to all platforms to make sure everyone is up to speed.

The update includes a character selection mode, so you can now choose to play as Mughead in solo mode (before he was restricted to co-op only, to player two), while all cutscenes are now fully animated as well. There’s also localized text in multiple new languages, a lot of other new animations, art for Cuphead and Mughead, and some new routes to the game’s infamously hard boss fights. You can read more about the variety of different things the studio has brought to the game in their update here.

Cuphead is available now for Xbox One, Switch, and PC, and you can read our take on the game here.
