Developers Asobo Studio and publishers Focus Home Interactive have released a unique new trailer for their recently released narrative driven action adventure title A Plague Tale: Innocence. Set to scenes of the grim, chaos-wracked 14th century France, which contends with a deadly rat plague as well as the increasingly violent Inquisition, Sean Bean narrates the poem “The Little Boy Lost”, by William Blake. And no, he doesn’t die in the trailer.

A Plague Tale: Innocence sees players stepping into the shoes of the young Amicia De Rune, daughter of a nobleman, while she takes on the responsibility of taking care of her younger brother Hugo, who suffers from a mysterious illness. All the while, the two have to keep out of the grasps of the Inquisition, who hunts for them, and the deadly rats, who devour their prey in a matter of seconds.

It’s quite an adventure- in our review, we awarded it a score of 9/10, praising it for delivering “an emotional and effective tale of the bond between a sister and her brother, while implementing simple mechanics in constantly engaging ways to make sure that it’s not always all about the story.” Read our full review through here.

A Plague Tale: Innocence is available now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC- and it doesn’t look like the developers are planning on making a sequel any time soon.
