Samurai Shodown

SNK’s Samurai Shodown is getting close, with its launch under a month away at this point. They’ve used the lead up time to tease out a lot of the characters, both returning and new, as well as the experimental Dojo mode. But that may not be quite enough for eager players who want to see how the game plays with their own hands on the controller (or stick if you’re really hardcore). Well, it seems SNK has something for you on that front with an upcoming demo.

Today the company announced that a demo would be coming at the end of this month. It will be for both PS4 and Xbox One and will let you sample Yashamaru Kuruma, Haohmaru, and Nakoruru with training, VS, and tutorial modes being available. You will have to switch your region over to Japan, however, if you want to try it out, since as of right now it is only confirmed for that region. No word yet on whether it or another version will come westward (thanks to Gematsu for translations).

Samurai Shodown launches June 25th for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with Switch and PC versions scheduled for Q4 2019. The demo will come May 31st on PS4 and Xbox One. For continued coverage of the fighting game’s return including all character introductions so far, check here.
