Samurai Shodown Trailer Shows Off Haohmaru

The main protagonist finally gets the spotlight.

SNK continues their character trailers for the upcoming fighter, Samurai Shodown. Yesterday, we got a look at the hulking Genjuro, and mentioned he’s traditionally been the rival to the series’ protagonist. Well, today, to follow his rival, SNK has shown off Haohmaru, the steady swordsman.

Haohmaru has been in the games since the first Samurai Shodown way back in 1993. He’s generally been seen as the series’ main protagonist and has been in every mainline entry released, and is usually the one accredited to defeating the main villain. He has no master, and travels the land to perfect his sword skills. As you can see from the trailer below, he’s a pretty steady character, not particularly slow or fast, but definitely can cause some real damage with his spinning blade attacks.

Samurai Showdown with release June 25th on PlayStation and Xbox One (27th in Japan), Q4 on Nintendo Switch, and at a later undetermined date on PC. You can read about the interesting Dojo Mode here.
