Gears 5’s New Escape Mode Will Have Map Builder

Gears 5 is coming this September, and it will have all the things we expect. It’ll have a full scale campaign, co-op, and an updated Horde mode. One of the more interesting additions, however, is Escape. The mode will put you in the shoes of some “hive busters” as they must escape from a hive while it’s being destroyed. However, not satisfied with just adding a new mode, The Coalition is also putting in a map creator with it.

As announced and detailed on the game’s website, the map builder will allow you to build, play, and create maps for Escape. As of now, it seems they only reference the Map Builder mode as being for Escape, so it doesn’t seem to apply to Horde or standard multiplayer as of now.

Gears 5 will release September 10th for Xbox One and PC. We will be seeing more of the campaign at E3 Coliseum later in the week, so stay tuned.
