Cyberpunk 2077’s Vehicles Can Be Summoned Like The Witcher 3’s Roach

There's going to be plenty of vehicle variety in the upcoming RPG.

Whistling to make your horse summon right next to you has become common practice in open world titles. Some, like Days Gone (with its bike) and Red Dead Redemption 2, put unique spins on that to make the game more grounded, but by and large, it’s a pretty common practice. CD Projekt RED’s upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 may not have horses, but you’ll still be able to summon your vehicles from wherever they are in the open world to wherever you are.

Narratively, that’s explained by vehicles having an AI, that takes control and drives over to you when you buzz it over. So when you summon your car or your bike, you can see it driving toward you when it arrives- the same as what CD Projekt RED did with our horse, Roach, in The Witcher 3 as well.

“The same that happens with Roach,” said  lead quest designer Pawel Sasko while speaking with VG247. “So basically, because those cars are equipped with AI, if you call it, you can see the car driving towards you. So you can see when it arrives, basically. You can see as your motorcycle arrives, you can see as your car arrives. So you can just leave it wherever you want, it can go somewhere, just call it, and AI makes it like ‘bzzt!’, he drives by and waits for you.”

We’ve also recently learned that the game will have multiple endings (of course) and that it will launch with a photo mode. It’s out on April 16, 2020 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. CDPR will be releasing the E3 2019 gameplay demonstration to the public at large at PAX West come August end- in the meantime, check out everything new we learned about the game after its recent showing.
