Nintendo recently unveiled the Switch Lite after months of speculation, a variant of the Switch that eschews the primary functionality the console was named after and instead presents a more compact piece of hardware aimed completely at handheld gaming crowds.

If you’re among the people who might be thinking of going from your regular Switch to the upcoming Lite model, a question you might have been wondering is- how will your games and all your progress transfer over? Well, as it turns out, that’s something Nintendo is working on. Recently, while speaking with CNET, Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser confirmed that Switch users will be able to transfer between different devices, and that more information on that will be coming in the future.

“Yes, you will have the ability to transfer between devices, your gameplay experiences,” he said. “More to come on there, but that is the intention.”

Cloud saves through Nintendo Switch Online are already available on the Switch, but it’s worth nothing that not all games support the functionality, with the likes of Splatoon 2 and Pokemon Let’s Go being just a couple of high profile exceptions. It remains to be seen whether Nintendo will put some other system into effect specifically for transferring between Switch and Switch Lite devices for consumers, but one would assume that would be the case.

In related news, alongside the Switch Lite, Nintendo also unveiled a special edition Pokemon Sword and Shield-themed version of the new hardware SKU as well. Take a look at it through here.
