Activision and Infinity Ward recently did a full unveiling of the multiplayer component of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, going into detail about its more grounded, gritty gunplay and revealing several interesting new details. But unlike last year’s Black Ops 4, Modern Warfare isn’t just about the multiplayer, and will include a single player campaign as well.
It’s one that Infinity Ward have said a great deal about, with its focus on more mature and grounded (yes, grounded again) storytelling and depictions of war certainly looking like an interesting direction to take for the series. That said, we haven’t really seen much of it- at least not publicly. So when exactly will the developers be showing gameplay from the campaign? Taylor Kurosaki, narrative director on the shooter, was recently asked this question on Twitter. His response? It’s “coming up soon.”
How soon “soon” will be is up in the air of course, but at least we know it’s coming. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out on October 25th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, so hopefully, we should be seeing something from the campaign not long from now.
A multiplayer beta for the game will also be held in September. Though the game will support cross-platform play, Infinity Ward haven’t yet figured out if cross-progression will be supported as well.
Coming up. Soon.
