We got confirmation not to long ago that on the PS4 Pro, Gearbox Software’s upcoming looter shooter Borderlands 3 would offer players an option between 4K/30 FPS and 1080p/60 FPS modes. It’s looking likely that on the Xbox One X, it will offer the same platforms, as per Gearbox Software’s producer Chris Brock.
While speaking with Windows Central, Brock confirmed that on the base Xbox One, the game would be locked at 30 frames per second. However, on the more powerful One X, the developers “intend to offer favor fidelity and favor performance-type options”, which means 4K. Brock also said that they’re “shooting for 60 FPS”, but stopped short of confirming that as being in the game, saying “we’ll do what we can.”
Considering the fact that the same options have been confirmed as being available on the PS4 Pro, one would imagine that the same will go for Xbox One X as well. Borderlands 3 is less than a month away from launch, so it shouldn’t be long before Gearbox officially confirms it.
The game is out on September 13th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The file size of the Xbox One version has been confirmed at 40 GB. Meanwhile, on PC, due to the game’s exclusivity to the Epic Games Store, a pre-load option is not going to be available.
