Everyone is abuzz about the next generation of consoles that are peeking around the corner. New graphics, new tech and a whole new world of possibilities (well, hopefully anyway). But we’ve still got consoles running now to maintain, and on the Sony side of things the newest update is coming soon, with the beta up for those who managed to sign up.

The next update, 7.00, has a beta that is live now for those that signed up for the teaser a few weeks ago. The update will bring a lot of new Quality of Life features that’s been requested for a while, such as HDR calibration, the ability to host a party for up to 16 players and the ability to install games without having to restart.

If you didn’t get to sign up for the beta, you’ll have to wait about two weeks for the public version to go live. Update 7.00 clocks in at a fairly small size of only 469.7MB.
