Daymare 1998 has had quite the journey. It originally began as a fan remake of Resident Evil 2, and was then shifted into its own project after the actual remake of Resident Evil 2 was announced. The game is out now on Steam, and to celebrate the survival horror game’s launch, developer Invader Studios released a new trailer.

The launch trailer details some of the game’s story, setting and combat. Knowing the game’s origin, you can still feel a lot of the DNA from Resident Evil in what’s here, but if you’re looking for a good survival horror fix, definitely seems to scratch that itch with plenty of bloody combat and nasty creatures. You can also check out a full hour of gameplay if want to see a little more of the game’s combat.

Daymare 1998 is available now for PC. A console version will release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at a later date.
