Yakuza: Like a Dragon (or Yakuza 7 if you want to be a purist about it) is bringing a lot of material you’d expect from a new entry in the series, such as new characters connected to the world’s crime underbelly in some way. But it’s taking the series to a much bigger change, shifting it to a full scale turn-based RPG. And it’s no joke, as the game features classes just like most Japanese RPGs in that style.

Via Weekly Famitsu, the game detailed three classes, referred to in the game as jobs, that are the game’s take on some classic fantasy RPG classes. The first is the mage-like Fortuneteller that uses a crystal ball to shoot fire and electricity at enemies, the Riot Police is the Knight-esque job that has high defense thanks to body armor and a shield and then the female-only Idol job that specializes in healing allies and distracting enemies echoes old school Dancer classes (thanks to Gematsu for transcribing and translations).

The game certainly isn’t shying away from being a full RPG now, that’s for sure. Yakuza: Like a Dragon launches in Japan on January 16 2020 with a western release said to be coming later next year.
