DOOM Eternal was originally due out later this year, on November 22, but developers id Software recently took to Twitter to announce that they’ve delayed the release date. The game’s launch has been delayed by a few months “to make sure we’re delivering the best experience”, as per id, and the game will now launch for the PS4, Xbox One, Stadia, and PC on March 20, 2020.

You’ll notice that the Switch isn’t mentioned up there. That’s because id Software has also confirmed that the Switch version will be launching after all the other versions. A release date for the game’s Switch version hasn’t been mentioned, but will be announced “in the future.”

Meanwhile, id Software also confirms that Invasion Mode – which will allow players to invade each others’ campaigns while playing as demons – will not be in the game at launch, and will instead be added to the game after release for free.

Finally, id Software has also confirmed that DOOM 64 won’t just be releasing on the Switch, but on the Xbox One, PS4, and PC as well. It will be a pre-order bonus on all platforms- and it seems its release has been delayed as well, with id saying that it will launch “on all platforms” on the same day that DOOM Eternal launches, which is March 20 of next year.
