As the series went on, the mystical dragon balls became much less central and important as the battles and action took center stage in Dragon Ball Z. But they remain an iconic part of the franchise’s lore and one that the newest game, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, will incorporate into it.

According to V-Jump Magazine, you will be able to gather the dragon balls. It doesn’t go into details on how you’ll go about doing that, but getting all seven will allow you to summon defeated enemies, having battles that weren’t in the original canon. That means you’ll be able to collect them multiple times most likely and have some challenging fights.

The dragon balls will join many iconic locations and iconic characters from the beloved Dragon Ball Z manga that Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will try and capture in RPG fashion. The game will release January 17th, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
