Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Has Surpassed $1 Billion Worldwide Sell-Through

Major franchises come and go, phase in and out of the top of the charts. But for over a decade now, the Call of Duty series has remained on top. It’s become a phenomena, something that manages to release on a consistent annual basis and still keep financial sales at a fever pitch. And if you had thoughts that train was slowing down anytime soon, think again.

As announced via press release by Activision, the newest entry in the shooter franchise, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, has already sold through $1 billion dollars worldwide. On top of that, they’re reporting that over 500 multiplayer hours and over 300 million multiplayer matches have been played since the game’s launch, which is staggering to think about. Combine this with the highly successful mobile title based on the franchise, and you’ve got a series that just won’t quit.
