Nioh 2 Highlights Game’s Music In New Video

A look at the sounds behind the fantasy RPG.

Nioh 2

The original Nioh was a surprise hit when it released several years ago on the PS4. The fantasy action RPG had a unique stance-based battle system and blended myth and history in interesting ways. That game has since released on PC and seen a good deal of success. Its sequel, Nioh 2, is set to hit a lot of the same notes, in somewhat of a literal sense too as a new video shows with the music behind the game.

The video features Composers Yugo Kanno and Akihiro Manabe as they talk about making the game’s soundtrack. We also get a peek behind the scenes as they create and impose the music to parts of Nioh 2. Most of the in-game footage is stuff we’ve seen before, but it’s still neat to watch. The video is in Japanese, but it does offer a decent Closed Caption option.

Nioh 2 will release exclusively on PlayStation 4 March 13th. The soundtrack will be available in Japan on March 18th, though no word on whether it will release elsewhere. You will get a chance to try out the game one more time before launch with a “Last Chance Trial” beginning February 28th.
