Microsft Rumored To Allow PC Game Streaming Via xCloud

The feature would bring PC titles to multiple devices.

While the most high profile game streaming service hasn’t inspired the best faith in Google’s Stadia, it’s definitely a technology that is eventually going to become a lot more common. Most major companies are working on it in some capacity, with Microsoft’s xCloud being their big step in that direction. The service is in public preview now, but there’s now rumors out there it will have a handy new feature that’ll open up a lot of doors.

As reported by Thurrot’s Brad Sams, in the video you can see below, Microsoft is allegedly looking to allow PC game streaming with xCloud. He compares it to Nvidia’s Geforce Now, where you can stream your Steam and Epic Games Store library to a range of devices like tablets and smartphones. This could, in theory, mean you can stream video games on your PC to the same type of devices, maybe even the Xbox consoles, with xCloud.

Of course, as always, we have to treat this in the rumor category. However, Sams has proven to be a reliable source in the past, and it’s a logical conclusion when all is said and done that’s where the next step for a game streaming service would go.
