Ori and the Will of the Wisps – New Video Shows Combat, Platforming, Boss Fight, and More

Moon Studios' metroidvania platformer continues to look fantastic.

Since the moment Microsoft and Moon Studios first showed off Ori and the Will of the Wisps, it became clear that with this sequel, they were going to deliver a game that would improve upon its predecessor in every way possible. It’s looked that way in everything that we’ve seen of it, and a new gameplay video uploaded by GameSpot continues to show the game in equally positive light.

The video, showing nearly a dozen minutes of gameplay, shows plenty of platforming and exploration, which are looking as tight and nimble as you’d expect, while the music and the art style continue to shine as well. The biggest improvement Will of the Wisps is making over its predecessor, though, is the combat, and we see plenty of that in this video as well- and it does look like a major step-up. The video ends with a boss fight, which we’ll leave for you to watch for yourself, in case you want to avoid spoilers. Take a look below.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps is out on Xbox One and PC on March 11, and will be releasing on Game Pass for both on the same day. The game is supposedly thrice as large as Blind Forest in terms of size, scale, and scope, so expect a meaty adventure.
