Xbox Series X Sales Potential In US Being Underestimated, Says Analyst

One man thinks you shouldn't underestimate the potential of the upcoming system.

Xbox Series X

We’re well on our way to a new generation of consoles. Both Sony’s PS5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Series X are still scheduled to release this Holiday season, and of course, the console war is already starting to heat up. All kinds of talk about which will be superior, which will sell more and whatever (and hey, we ain’t above it). While there’s all kinds of subjectivity to all of this, at the end of the day, there is something indisputable: this current gen saw Sony dominate Microsoft from a pure hardware sales standpoint. Sony’s PS4 had an incredible rise, while Microsoft’s Xbox One went through some early fumblings that it never quite recovered from. Well, one analyst says not to count out the Xbox Series X, especially the United States.

Benji-Sales, an independent analyst who grew to prominence due to his presence at popular gaming forum ResetERA, says he thinks that people are underestimating how the Xbox Series X will perform in the US. He points to the region always being a strong one for Microsoft, and that even after the disastrous launch of the Xbox One, it still managed to do well in their home region. He’s careful to say that he thinks the PS5 will probably still have the global edge and maybe even outsell Microsoft’s console in the US, but he thinks the next Xbox has a good chance of surprising people.

It’s a logical viewpoint, Microsoft’s Xbox brand has always had a stronger presence in the US than other regions, and Microsoft’s marketing game seems a lot more on point now then it did with the Xbox One, which was often unfocused. Of course, the industry can be unpredictable at times as well. There’s been more than a few points when an industry leader has been assumed to rule the world, only to make some major snafus. Only time is going to tell.
