Valve has released a new update for Half-Life: Alyx, it’s critically VR follow-up in the series. This update adds continuous turning, which will more accurately follow your movements in real life. It’s that extra bit of immersion on top of having to physically remove a Headcrab from your face.

Other changes introduced with the update include renaming Quick Turn to Snap Turn, the option to disable turning with the controller and turning speed options for continuous turning. You can also expect improvements in several areas like better hand-over-mouth pose usability for Windows MR controllers. The resolution of impact decals on foes has also been improved.

Check out the patch notes below for more details. You can read our review for Half-Life: Alyx here. Interestingly enough, it was recently found that the game can be played without needing a VR headset. Head here for more details, though an official non-VR mod or mods have yet to be released to provide the smoothest experience.
