Riot Games upcoming Valorant is going to be the first non-League of Legends title they’ve ever made, and as a 5v5 competitive first person shooter with shades of Overwatch and Counter-Strike, it’s also a completely uncharted territory for them as developers. That said, it’s fair to say that there’s more that a teensy bit of excitement surrounding the game, but while it’s been confirmed for a PC release, there’s a big question mark over everything beyond that. So are Riot planning on releasing the game on other platforms down the line to expand the game’s audience and make it accessible to even more people?

Short answer? Maybe. Talking with Twitch streamer TimTheTatman, the Valorant developers said that a potential console port of the game down the road is something that they are open to, but that for now, they remain focused on the game’s PC release.

“Our focus right now is on PC,” said Valorant lead designer Trevor Romelski. “We’re open to exploring new opportunities for other platforms, but for the time being what our current focus is, is on the PC platform.”

If Valorant proves to be successful – and all early indications suggest that it will certainly be quite successful – there’s a very good chance that Riot Games do choose to bring it over to other platforms- but I guess we’re going to have to wait for that confirmation.

Valorant is due out for PC later this year, but doesn’t currently have a specific release date nailed down yet. The game’s closed beta is currently ongoing.
