It seems a feature first introduced to Nintendo’s life sim series in 3DS’ Animal Crossing: New Leaf might be headed to New Horizons soon. On Twitter, dataminer Ninji – who recently discovered evidence in the game’s code for various new features, many of which came to the game in its newest update – has found stuff that might possibly be hinting at the addition of the Dream Suite.

In New Leaf, the Dream Suite allowed players to visit each others’ towns, but with certain limitations in place, such as not being able to enter shops and buildings or messing with other physical features of towns, such as trees and flowers and the like. Ninji does point out that this is far from conclusive, but it does look like it’s definitely at least a possibility. New Horizons does have various updates coming up in the coming weeks, so it’s possible that Nintendo might be looking to add new features to the game, including the Dream Suite.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is out now on the Nintendo Switch, and has been selling impressive numbers since launch. Other than topping UK charts on a regular basis, it’s also been a consistent performer in Japan, while also breaking sales records in the US. It also broke records of worldwide digital sales in March.
