EA Will Launch ‘Multiple’ Titles For Switch This Year

Is multiple more than 2? Let's hope so.

Despite the success of Nintendo’s latest console, the Switch has still struggled somewhat to get support from certain major third parties. There are obvious reasons, of course, with a big power dependency between it and the other consoles on the market being one of the biggest. Most publishers have cobbled together something, however, though one of the biggest holdouts is EA. Thus far the only support they have given the system is a port of Unravel 2 and Legacy versions of their yearly FIFA series. Well, that may be changing, though the keyword here is may.

During a conference call in their Q4 2020 FY earnings, EA outlined their announced line up, and made the interesting comment they plan to release multiple games for the Switch this year. It’s interesting since the year almost half over and we’ve heard only one announcement for the system and…well, it’s EA and the Switch. Unfortunately, no other details were given (thanks to Gematsu for transcribing the talk, which you can see below).

Thus far the only game announced to come to the Switch from EA this year is Burnout Paradise Remastered. Presumably, there will also be the stripped down Legacy Edition of FIFA 21. So, there’s two, which technically would be multiple depending on how you stretch the meaning of the word. Will there be more? EA will host their own digital event, EA Play Live 2020, next month, so stay tuned.
