Microsoft announced a bunch of new third party games that will be coming to the Xbox Series X during their recent Inside Xbox broadcast, but the game that they kicked that string of announcements off with was Bright Memory, developed by FYQD-Studio- which is essentially a solo effort by Chinese developer Zeng Xiancheng.

One look at the game’s new trailer – if you haven’t seen Bright Memory in action before, that is – will show you why it being made by a single person is so surprising. It looks stunning, visually speaking, while the footage shown off of its slick traversal and movement and frenetic combat – which combines hack-n-slash elements with shooting – looks exciting, too. Take a look below.

When Xiancheng first started development on Bright Memory, he intended it to be an episodic release for Steam. Episode 1 was released earlier this year, but the reception to it convinced him to focus his resources and time on a single larger release and essentially reboot development- the result of which is Bright Memory: Infinite.

Bright Memory: Infinite is in development for Xbox Series X and PC. It currently does not have a release date.
