One thing about modern systems and software in gaming that has changed is that companies can now constantly update and tweak certain aspects of various parts of games or platforms. It seems in Microsoft’s case, they are now taking that chance to update the look of their store, and it’s looking pretty nice.
There’s been murmurs about a new update codenamed “Mercury” that was soon to come to the Xbox Store. It seems that update is real (though unclear if Mercury is the name for the update or something else), and Brad Sims has managed to get a look at the (mostly) up and running look at the update. It gives the Xbox Store a much more simple and clean look, and Brad demonstrates just how easy the new layout is to navigate.
You can also see in the comments below the video that this was for an overhaul for Xbox itself, and not part of an app, another new aspect of the store that has been rumored to be coming. It’s unclear if this will be a cross UI across PC and the various past and future Xboxs. While this all seems legit, like any leak, we put this under the rumor mill for the time being, but we should be hearing something official soon.
