Indie studio Ember Lab’s Kena: Bridge of Spirits was surrounded by a lot of major AAA reveals, but it made a strong enough impression that it still managed to stand out as one of the most impressive new reveals at the show. Recently, in an interview with IGN, the developers broke down the game’s reveal trailer, and provided new details on various aspects of the upcoming action-adventure title.

After briefly setting up the game’s narrative premise, the developers talk about the Root – the little creatures that you will be recruiting to your cause throughout the game – and how they will function in gameplay, while also talking about Kena’s staff, which is used as a melee weapon, can be transformed into a magical bow, and also allows Kena to summon shields. The developers also talk about the combat a little bit, which they describe as fast-paced with aggressive enemies. You can check out the full interview below.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits releases this Holiday for PS5, PS4, and PC. You can check out its PC system requirements through here, or head on over here to hear more from the developers about the game’s story and themes.
