While there’s always going to be a certain thirst for the big budget blockbusters, one of the things this generation of consoles has seen is the rise of midbudget titles that have managed to find a good niche for themselves. One of those games was last year’s A Plague Tale: Innocence. The game took place in a plague-ridden French at the height of the Black Death and followed two siblings as they flee mysterious forces. It seems that it’s been a success as well.

Via the official Twitter account, it was confirmed the game had now surpassed a million copies. It’s not too big of a surprise since in October of last year it was confirmed that publisher Focus Home Interactive considered it to be a commercial success, but this is the first number we’ve seen put to it.

A Plague Tale: Innocence is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. There are also rumors that a sequel to the game is in development and that could be revealed at some point this year.
