Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes 2020

Bungie has unveiled the first details for Destiny 2’s upcoming annual event, Solstice of Heroes. Players will once again venture to the European Aerial Zone, taking on all Hive, Cabal and Fallen enemies while also battling bosses. Depending on the number of bosses beaten, players can open different chests spread throughout the area.

A new Solstice armor set will also be available for players to equip and upgrade by completing different objectives. Like last year, the armor will start out as Rare and can be upgraded to Legendary tier. From there, players must complete a Nightmare Hunt, the Pit of Heresy Dungeon and other Year 3 activities to bring it to Majestic Legendary tier.

Here’s where things get a little complicated. If you complete these objectives, then your Majestic Legendary armor will have a white glow. However, those who want the set as a Universal Ornament to equip over any armor set will need to purchase it for either Silver or Bright Dust from Eververse. Unlike last year’s elemental glows, the Universal Ornament’s glow will change to match the equipped subclass.

A unique glow will even be added the Stasis subclass when Beyond Light launches in November. However, this does raise some questions on how Transmog will work and whether players will need to pay, either with real money through Silver or via Bright Dust, for their optimal fashion. We’ll have to wait for more details in the coming months.

In the meantime, check out the Solstice of Heroes trailer below to see the armor in action.
