Sony has quite the first party line up for the PS5 when it launches next month, but probably the big ace in their pocket is Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. While the game will also be coming to PS4, the character is still one of the most popular ones worldwide, and of course, he’s going to get lots of improvements for this new generation of consoles, and now we have an idea of what that entails.

The latest issue of Game Informer had a feature on the title, and in it they talked about the technical aspects we can expect. Probably the most impressive thing was the game will apparently feature no loading, even during fast travel, thanks to the power of the new SSD. On the graphics and performance side, you’ll have two options. The first is a Fidelity Mode that will see the game target full 4K and 30 FPS with extra graphical features.

The other will be Performance Mode which will focus on running the game at a smooth 60 FPS, but will also see reductions in graphical effects such as ray-tracing abilities as well as a “lower” resolution, though it’s unclear if Performance Mode is still targeting a form of 4K or not. Though, it is said that Insomniac will use temporal-injection technique that will make it hard to see the difference between the two, so most likely it’s something in the dynamic 4K range still. This is a very similar set up to another first party launch title, Demon’s Souls, which was reported to have an option between a graphics or performance mode.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will launch for both the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on November 12th, and it is confirmed that you’ll be able to transfer your saves from current to next generation versions once you upgrade.
