The Game Awards

The Game Awards has become the biggest single event in the gaming industry, at least in regards to how many viewers it pulls in, even eclipsing the likes of E3 or Gamescom despite those being more “important” shows from an investor standpoint. Even with the pandemic, the show must go on, the nominees have been named, and there’s going to be lots of reveals.

It was already said earlier that the pre-show would feature 5 world premieres. In a Reddit AMA, The Game Awards creator, producer, and host Geoff Keighley answered questions about the show. When asked about how many reveals there would be in the main show, he answered by saying there “are a good dozen-plus games that will be announced / revealed at the show for the first time.” He later narrowed it down saying something like 12-15 and that would include big AAA titles as well as the smaller, indie and midrange stuff.

We know some of the games that will be there already in some capacity, and there’s also plenty of rumors of others. It seems there’s always at least one big reveal that gets everyone abuzz. Last year, for instance, the Xbox Series X was officially revealed out of nowhere. What happens this year? We’ll all just have to tune in, I guess.
