Mass Effect: Legendary Edition Developer Hasn’t Ruled Out a Switch Release Down the Line

For now, BioWare remains focused on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition (2)

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is finally releasing a few months from now, but when it does, it won’t be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Given the fact that EA has released both of its remastered releases over the past couple of years on Nintendo’s platform, the question bears asking- why not? And can we expect it to eventually release for the hybrid down the line?

Well, BioWare haven’t ruled it out. Speaking with Eurogamer, project director Mac Walters said that he would personally love to see the game on the Switch, and that while that’s something that the developer might eventually consider, for now, they’re fully focused on the game’s May launch.

“Personally, I’d love it,” Walter said. “But ultimately, I think we had a path set and it was like, let’s finish that, then let’s see sort of where we’re at.”

It’s worth mentioning that back when the game first leaked in early 2020, it was said that it would not be coming to the Switch “at first”, so it’s not outside the realm of possibility that BioWare gives it some thought later on.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on May 7, and will also be playable on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S via backward compatibility. If you plan on playing it on PC, check out its system requirements through here.
