Originally released in November 2019 for Japan and worldwide in September last year, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim features 13 playable characters whose stories run parallel and intersect with each other at various. The plot sees the cast piloting mechs called Sentinels in an effort to defeat the kaiju but there’s a whole lot more going on than meets the eye.
Though the narrative portion takes place from a side-scrolling perspective with a hand-painted style, the combat shifts to a top-down tactical strategy perspective as players battle the kaiju. As more of the story opens up, different characters will become playable and provide more context on the overall story. 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is currently available for PlayStation 4.
