Xbox recently partnered with a third party to conduct research on how Xbox Game Pass was keeping gamers in Europe connected. They found out quite a bit of new information, but the highlight is that “Xbox Game Pass members are more likely to connect with friends and family through gaming on a regular basis compared to non-members.”

According to a sample of 1,400 players across Europe. Based on the survey responses, more than half (53%, to be precise) of players in Europe play a multiplayer game at least once a week. Game Pass members are also more likely to engage with different types of gaming overall. They are 19% more likely to play games with family online, and 18% more likely to play with friends online. They’re 17% more likely to play multiplayer games online in general.

“We believe that gaming has a unique power to bring people together, and it’s incredible to see how Xbox Game Pass plays a valuable role for so many people across Europe who use gaming as a way to connect with friends and family on a regular basis,” said Ryan Cameron, Xbox Gaming Director, EMEA.

We also learned several of the reasons users sign up for Xbox Game Pass. 59% of polled members signed up to Xbox Game Pass to “access to lots of different content,” 55% said “ease of set up” was a reason, and 55% liked the “immediate access to new content as it releases.”

None of this data is particularly surprising. Game Pass remains the best deal in gaming, and it offers a ton of value, whether you play alone, with family, or with friends. If nothing else, it sheds a light on how and why European players use Game Pass.
