The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD Are Still Coming to the Switch – Rumour

Though Nintendo has said it doesn't plan on releasing any more Zelda games for the Switch for the series' 35th anniversary, reports suggest that might not be true.

When Nintendo announced The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD for the Nintendo earlier this year as part of the series’ 35th anniversary celebrations, there were more than a few people who were disappointed at the lack of Switch ports for other games in the series as well, more specifically The Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD. Reports some months ago suggested those two games would be announced for the Switch in the Summer, but at yesterday’s E3 2021 Direct, series producer Eiji Aonuma said that Nintendo had no plans for bringing any other Zelda games to the Switch for the series’ 35th anniversary celebrations.

Apparently, however, the matter might not be as firmly shut as you’d think. Over on Twitter, Andy Robinson of VGC, who was one of the people who mentioned Summer announcements for The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, suggested that those games are still coming to the Switch, asking Zelda fans to “sit tight” and suggesting in another tweet that Nintendo’s not going to announce those games while Skyward Sword HD still isn’t out.

Skyward Sword HD is launching for the Switch on July 16, while Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is also getting new content soon. Meanwhile, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is coming next year.
