Since it came out in 2019, Mortal Kombat 11 has enjoyed solid post-launch content, with NetherRealm Studios having supported the game with additional fighters, a full-fledged story expansion in Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, and of course, a release of Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate. Now, however, after over two years of post-launch support, it seems the brutal fighter is ready to rest.

NetherRealm recently took to Twitter via the official Mortal Kombat page to confirm that all support for Mortal Kombat 11, including DLC and guest characters, has come to an end? The reason? Fans will be excited about this- NetherRealm Studios is now completely focused on its next project.

And what exactly is that going to be? That’s anyone’s best guess right now. Many will be hoping that Injustice 3 is in the works. Then again, maybe the developer is working on something completely new. Whatever it is, we can be sure that it’s going to be worth keeping an eye on.
