A recent video by popular tech YouTuber Austin Evans showcases a breakdown of the revised PlayStation 5 – which has been spotted in regions such as Australia, among others. In the teardown, Evans details a number of changes to the internals of the console – which you can check out below.

Most importantly, the cooling system seems to be lighter on the materials when compared to the original launch version. Of course, the reduced heat-sink is an important factor contributing to the overall lighter weight of the console – though there are some other minor changes as well.

During Evans’ tests, the revised model ran a bit hotter than the launch version – which he details could be a cause of concern for the future. Of course, it’s not that significant – but has invited a number of controversies surrounding this video with many fans expressing similar concerns online. As of now, this seems uncalled for, as many have pointed out the launch version’s cooling system to be over-engineered as opposed to the revised model having inferior cooling.
