Following the release of Death Stranding Director’s Cut for the PS5, we took a look at the technical aspects of the game and how it compares with the base game’s PS4 Pro version. A point worth mentioning is the fact that this suite of tests is a representation of performance, and not exact numbers. Check out the video below for more details

Death Stranding on the PS4 Pro runs at a frame-rate of 2160p at 30 fps on Quality mode. In our tests, the game largely stuck to its performance target. Performance mode knocks down the resolution, and pushes the framerate to 60fps. The PS5, meanwhile, features two separate modes – a quality mode, which runs at 4K with a target of up to 60 fps, and a performance mode, which runs at a lower resolution with a target of 60 fps, which it largely sticks to.

On the topic of load times, PS5 sees a massive improvement from the PS4 Pro thanks to its SSD. The PS4 Pro takes well over a minute to load into the game, while the PS5 just takes a couple of seconds.
